BAPTISM FOR INFANTS /  CHILDREN UNDER 7

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”   Matthew 28:19, 20

REQUIREMENTS:  In order to take part in our Baptism Program, BOTH PARENTS and GODPARENTS are required to:

Attend a Baptism Preparation Class (unless proof is presented that a baptism preparation class was attended in the last 12 months).

FEES:  The fee per the family of each child is $25 (for one or however many are in the family group) for the class.

After completing these requirements, your child will be baptized on a Saturday (normally at 11:00 a.m., but the time is subject to change).  Please note that no classes/Baptisms take place in the month in which Easter falls or in August.

BAPTISM REGISTRATION: To register for the class, email Fr. David Guzman at davidguzman@live.com and just let him know that you will be coming (leave your full name and your best contact phone number).

LATIN RITE (EXTRAORDINARY FORM) BAPTISM:  If you attend the Latin Mass and would like your child to be baptized in the extraordinary form, click here (X) to download the Latin REGISTRATION FORM.  You still need to attend the class, but you will have to make arrangements with Fr. Justin Ramos, O.Praem, for the baptism.  Speak with him after the Latin Mass.

SELECTING THE GODPARENTS: Canon Law requires you to have at least one *godparent (may have two–one woman and one man) who:

  • Is at least 16 years of age;

  • Has received the Sacrament of Confirmation; and

  • Is a practicing Catholic.

*Each godparent must obtain proof of Confirmation and of being in good standing. A form to verify that will be given to them at the class.

QUESTIONS:  For questions, please contact Fr. David Guzman at (626) 282-2744, ext. 232; if he’s not in, leave your name and phone number.
